With Brexit looming and still plenty of uncertainty remaining regarding the status of British nationals living and working in the EU, what can be done to try and cover as many bases as possible?
The current advice coming from the UK Government on their website (www.gov.uk/livinginfrance) is as follows:
- Register as a resident in France
- Register for HealthCare as a resident in France
- Check your passport is valid for travel
- Sign up to email alerts and follow the British Embassy in Paris on Twitter and Facebook
For those who have family with them, they should also check their status as well.
There is also advice available from the French Government website about registering as a resident in France.
Whatever the final outcome may be, here is the current advice from the respective governments. You are obviously free to make your own decision on what to do or not do.
