Signing a pre-contrat doesn’t mean that you have a contract with your club.

A recent court ruling changes the landscape for pre-contract. Before the ruling, the pre-contract was considered as equal to a normal contract but the French highest court (cour de cassation) changed his opinion on the value of pre-contract.

An offer received by the player from the club is no longer considered as a proper offer and the employer can withdraw his proposal freely until it has been approved byt the employee.

This means that as soon as you receive your pre-contract and you agree with its terms and conditions you must send a signed version to your employer. Only after receiving this signed version your contract will later enter into force.
